Alyssa Haley Moon grew up and currently lives in the rural Central Valley, California. She obtained her BFA in Art, with a focus in painting and a minor in Art History at CSU Stanislaus. She completed her MFA in Visual Arts at Azusa Pacific University. She currently works as an Art teacher at The Chartreuse Muse in Modesto, CA. Alyssa paints intuitively and is invested in themes that create dialogue between the female body and the landscape. She uses these subjects to create spaces charged with emotional content related to identity, culture, trauma, intersectionality and faith. Alyssa explores the visceral qualities of paint; she associates paint to qualities of flesh and uses it to discuss various topics through literal and narrative aspects in her work.
